1947 Spartan Manor (Bedroom Windows Removed)

I was able to remove the side windows in the bedroom today as well....my plan is to strip off the gold colored paint and find a color that will fit better with the stain I plan to use....I am not 100% sure the color yet so i will just strip these windows and get them primed and ready for painting later

this picture below shows the water damage to the wood paneling all 3 of these pieces will need to be replaced...I am going to try and save as many of the wood panels as I can...each time i get to work in the trailer i seem to find more that are just better off replaced...

1947 Spartan Manor (water on floor)

Took some time today on Thanksgiving morning to work on the 1947 Spartan Trailer...it is likely the first time in a month that i have taken time to do something that i wanted to do...work keeps me busy most days and I thank God everyday that we have work to do...being self-employed is not always associated with money and free time...

Yesterday was a rain day in Central Florida and I was not supprised to find water on the floor when I got into the trailer for the morning..i was able to narrow this leak to a screw hole just to the left of the rear window...po had a window cover of some sort that I removed and failed to fill in the holes...this one leaked so i took some putty tape and just worked that in for now...i plan to go around the trailer and use rivets to fill in any holes...

I was able to take out the panel to the left of the window and use the shop vac to get things cleaned up...i went up to homedepot and bought a small nail pry bar...what a time saver...small 10 inch and easy to fit in the edges and corners...

1947 Spartan Manor Blogs....to share

Don....this guy is a professional....here is a link to his blog tracking the restoration work to his 1947 Spartan Manor....

everything looks good....this guy must have lots and time and money...both of which i lack...

i just want to get my trailer to the point where i can hold my head up when camped out....i dont want to the the old trailer trash in the back parking space at the park...(ok..maybe i do...smile...)...i am planning a 13.5 k AC with heat strip...on demand hot water....solor panels on top to recharge a battery bank...likely portable hot spot for wifi access that neighbors could tap into...pergo flooring...considering a wet bath up front near the door or in the bedroom ....

so here is a link to Dons blog....
